Starting with a blank canvas, I whipped up a pencil rough that incorporated the trucks that my client had requested, as well a keeping the theme of the past few years and drawing a couple of Woodland, California landmarks.
Pencil rough on cheap copy paper, all vector work in Adobe Illustrator using the pen tool. No auto-trace, no filters, plugins, etc. Those halftones were created years ago by scanning, distressing, photographing and destroying some old scans and zipatone applications. Simple as that.
